La Paz offers a range of accommodations that includes everything from resorts to a youth hostel with lots of choices in between. Average prices range between $20 to $60.


BED & BREAKFAST

Casa Tuscany Inn, Bed and breakfast inn with five rooms decorated with textiles and artwork from South America and around the world. Each room has a queen size bed and private bathroom. One block from the Bay of La Paz. (tel/fax 011-52 (612) 128-8103).

La Palmas - Mutualismo No 314, a block off the Malecon, (tel 011-52 (612) 122-4623) Eight units with a variety of accommodations including suites, full breakfast.

Posada Santa Fe is a beach front hacienda, centrally located on the Malecon. (tel 011-52 (612) 125-5871) Traditional Mexican architecture and atmosphere with modern facilities.


CAMPING AND RV PARKS

Free camping at the beaches north of the city but beware of partiers on weekends. La Paz area has six trailer parks with the El Cardon, (tel 011-52 (612) 122-0078), (fax 011-52 (612) 122-1261), at km 4 on the road to the airport and La Paz Trailer Park, (tel 011-52 (612) 125-0602), (fax 011-52 (612) 122-9938), off of a left turn at the VW dealer on the road toward the bay. Aquamarina RV Park is a few blocks further downtown, (tel 011-52 (612) 122-3761).


HOTELS

Casa Mexicana Inn, In center of town, one block from Bay (tel/fax 011-52 (612) 125-2748), Deluxe, Restored Moorish/Deco Inn. All rooms with views, patios, fountain courtyards and many amenities, including breakfasts.

Club El Moro at km 2 on the La Paz - Pichilingue Road, (tel 011-52 (612) 122-4084) Moorish-style building with suites, rooms, pool, gardens, some views of the bay, restaurant.

El Angel Azul, Independencia #518, e/Serdan y G.Prieto Centro, (tel/fax: 011-52 (612) 125-5130)

Hotel Gardenias on the corner of Serdan and Guerrero, (tel 011-52 (612) 122-3088) Two-story hotel with pool and courtyard. Rooms have a/c and TV.

Hotel Lorimar on Bravo, two blocks up from the Malecon, (tel 011-52 (612) 125-3822) Basic rooms, courtyard for meeting other travelers, restaurant for breakfast.

Hotel Mediterrane on Allende, half a block from the Malecon, reservations (tel/fax 011-52 (612) 125-1195). Large, bright rooms with a/c, TV/VCR.

Hotel Yeneka on Madero, between 16 de Septiembre and Independencia, (tel 011-52 (612) 125-4688) Basic rooms surround a funky courtyard complete with monkey. Restaurant adjacent.

Posada LunaSol, on the corner of Topete and Navarro, (tel 011-52 (612) 123-0559, or in the U.S. 800-355-7140). A quaint Mexican Inn, reasonably priced and convenient to downtown and the Bay of La Paz.
